Junkanoo, a biennial centuries-old national parade and a cornerstone of Bahamian culture, becomes the materialization of the most urgent concerns of the African diaspora in the work of two artists who have always been committed to social cooperation and the ecology of recycling. Works made from discarded materials, including cardboard, nautical tarpaulins, and sailcloth, redirect attention to elements and objects that would otherwise remain hidden or overlooked, transforming them into instruments of commemoration.
