Addressing the legacy of the African diaspora and contemporary forms of slavery, Roberto Diago’s installation brings together large sculpted heads advancing towards the viewer. Oxidized metals, wood, and reclaimed materials form a sort of skin turning scars into a structure element, highlighting identity and resistance. Freedom becomes a conscious practice: memories resurfacing, body escaping oblivion.
