Playing on the double meaning of the Welsh term sownd, which can be translated both as “stuck” and “foundationally sound,” the artists develop a sculptural reflection on the deep connection between form and meaning. The result is an exploration of landscape and language understood as environments animated by persistence and vulnerability. Organic materials, found objects, texts, and sound interventions come together in a continuous installation, which conceptually extends into a parallel site-specific programme taking place in Wales during the opening period of the Venice Art Biennale.
