At the entrance of the Pavilion, a structure replicates the ceiling of the Perroquet, a historic nightclub in Famagosta that has remained sealed since the Turkish invasion. Inside, motorized machines, sculptures, and audiovisual materials form an “unconditional archive” of historical fragments, objects, and images that accumulate into unstable configurations. Through cyclical movements and loops, Xenofontos creates a portrait of the present that is both mechanical and metaphysical, where memory unfolds as an insistent yet discontinuous presence.
