EQUATORIAL GUINEA

For its first participation in the Biennale Arte, the Central African country places at the heart of a group exhibition the imagery of the tropical forest and its dense undergrowth. This habitat is evoked as a vital ecosystem to be preserved, a metaphor for connection, complexity, and biological and cultural richness. In line with the need to protect forest biodiversity, the artists’ works highlight how the visible and invisible components of this ecosystem are interdependent.
