In the late 17th century, Wu Li – painter, poet and theologian – set out to join Jesuit missionaries in Rome, only to stop in Macao, where he studied theology and immortalised the city’s landscapes in his poems. Three contemporary artists revisit this unfinished journey through paintings, installations and video, weaving their own voices together with Wu Li’s in an exhibition path that connects outdoor spaces and four indoor galleries, moving across time, cultures and faiths in polyphonic dialogue.
