The title word “Qoñyr” is a key concept in Kazakh cosmology, referring to nearly imperceptible signals that make what is hidden from sight and hearing perceptible. Inspired by a composition by the Kazakh musician Äbiken Khasenov, the exhibition unfolds across six interconnected rooms and explores how memory is transmitted in every instant of everyday life, among monumental figures and steppe grass spread across the floor. The sounds of Venice intertwine with those of Kazakh tradition, creating an immersive soundscape in which the audience take an active part.
