Drones, more and more used in military practices that make them protagonists of ongoing conflicts all over the world, become in the Moldovan Pavilion a symbol of practical and expressive support, lifting various carpets into mid-air within an airspace which is poetic and free. Moldovan textile tradition thus encounters a technology no longer in the service of humanity as an instrument of aggression, but transformed into a metaphor for solidarity and fairytale imagination – evoking, among other things, the Eastern archetype of the flying carpet.
