Jon Cuyson, Manila-based artist and filmmaker, has been exploring for over two decades themes such as labor, diaspora, and queer ecologies across painting and cinema. With Sea of Love, Cuyson creates an immersive environment made of large-scale canvases and videos dedicated to Filipino seafarers working aboard cargo and cruise ships along global routes. Images of ships, mussels, and sea horizons become signs of distance and resilience, interweaving life at sea with families’ life on land.
