Saddexleey – a Somali poetic form based on repetition, variation and relation – gives its title and structure to the Pavilion, developed across three floors according to a triadic rhythm. In Somalia, known also as the “Nation of Poets”, the oral tradition has historically shaped thought, transmission and collective memory. The project space has been organized following the form of this tradition. Three artists, three registers: textiles and sediments as keepers of time, film and archival practices to reactivate heritage, the word as witness to uprooting and intimacy.
