Aya is a young woman approaching her thirties who lives in Tozeur, a small town in southern Tunisia, with no clear future prospects. One day, while on her way to work, she is involved in a car accident. As the sole survivor, she decides to seize the opportunity to disappear and start a new life in the capital, Tunis. Once she moves to the city, her new identity is jeopardized by a police error.

Mehdi Barsaoui

Born in 1984, Mehdi Barsaoui graduated from the Higher Institute of Multimedia Arts in Tunis before moving to Italy to complete his studies at DAMS Bologna. His short films Sideways (2010), Bobby (2014), and We Are Just Fine Like This (2016) have been selected for various international festivals and have won numerous awards. In 2019, Barsaoui made his feature film debut with A Son at the Venice Film Festival.
