Ryosuke Yoshii is an enigmatic young man who seeks to enrich himself online at the expense of others, using insidious schemes and hiding his identity behind the nickname “Ratel.” One day, while engrossed in reading posts from haters against his alter ego, Ryosuke hears a voice threatening him with death. In the blink of an eye, Ratel goes from being a predator to becoming prey, finding himself on the run from a mysterious masked man who has targeted him.
Born in 1955, Kiyoshi Kurosawa is one of Japan’s most internationally renowned directors. With his distinctive dark and visceral aesthetic, he has helped shape the reputation of acclaimed J-Horror, starting with Cure in 1997, followed by other successes such as Charisma (2001) and Pulse (2001). Prolific and versatile, Kurosawa showcases his great talent across various genres, as demonstrated by the domestic drama Tokyo Sonata (2008), the TV series Penance, presented Out of Competition at Venice in 2012, and Wife of a Spy, a television film from 2020 that won the Silver Lion in its cinematic version at Venezia 77.
