Swiss Alps, 1962: Johannes Leinert attends a physics convention, eager to listen to a revolutionary lecture by an Iranian quantum mechanics scientist—the most anticipated lecture at the convention. As Johannes wait for the conference to start, he meets Karin, a mysterious, charming pianist, who seems to know a lot about him. Later, a German physicist is killed, and Karin disappears. Johannes investigates the matter on his own.
German director and cinematographer, born in 1985, Kröger once submitted his The Council of Birds to the International Film Critics’ Week programme in 2014. The film was his graduation work, and was praised by experts for its maturity. The filmmaker studied at the European Film College of Ebeltoft (Denmark), where he works as Teaching Assistant. After an internship at ARRI Rental in Munich, he studied documentary making at FIlmakademie Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg.
