Abused by her boyfriend, the timid Tonya arrives at her new school seeking refuge in new friendships but ends up joining a gang of teenagers. The fifteen-year-old quickly falls in love with Zhurik, the most popular boy in school, but also develops feelings for her friend Sania. An exciting yet risky love triangle unfolds.
Set in late 1990s Kiev, Forever-Forever, filmed entirely before the conflict but only recently completed, is the unsettling portrait of a group of young rebels who grew up too quickly amidst the ruins of the Soviet regime, desperately searching for love to survive in the world of adults.
A Ukrainian director with over ten years of experience in cinema, music video production, social filmmaking, and advertisement, Anna Buryachkova presented her work in several festivals, including Berlin Fashion Films, Berlin Music Video Awards, and Cannes Lions’ Social Campaign Program. In 2014, she directed the short film Case #407, a mystical thriller exploring the folds of human anger, and in 2020, the documentary short Anaconda, about the Ukrainian judoka Daria Bilodid, the youngest world champion in history. Forever-Forever is her first feature film.
