(2025, Germany, 153')
An urban melodrama rooted in rural stories of debt, usury, and disappearance, set against a feverish, hallucinatory Bangkok. Jen, a hotel receptionist, ekes out a living by petty hustles and by posing as a “temporary” girlfriend for hire. After a botched robbery, she vanishes without a trace, driving her partner Wason into a desperate search through the city’s shadowy streets. Echoing ghost cinema and the Eastern fascination with the double, the film weaves together pure romanticism and socio-political reality, offering a peculiar and unsettling portrait of the city, offering a peculiar and unsettling portrait of the city.
