In a near future, Yuta and Kou attend a high school in Tokyo and are inseparable friends. Together, they plan a prank on the principal, which results in the installation of a strict surveillance system that operates around the clock. The oppressive measures implemented at the school, combined with the threat of an impending catastrophic event, will have a profound impact on the two boys, putting their friendship to the test for the first time.
Director, cinematographer, and artist Neo Sora (New York, 1991) directed the short film The Chickens in 2020, which was featured at numerous festivals, including Locarno, Clermont-Ferrand, and Hong Kong. In 2023, Sora participated out of competition at the Venice Film Festival with Ryuichi Sakamoto | Opus, a tribute to the great Japanese composer.
