A nameless village in an undefined time and place is disrupted by three types of outsiders: the cartographer, the migrant, and the businessman, all harbingers of profound changes. This is a tragicomic take on the western genre, where there are no heroes, only ordinary and imperfect people who, over the course of seven hallucinatory days, must confront the invasion of the outside world and the trauma of modernity.

Athina Rachel Tsangari

Born in Athens in 1966, her cinema is often described as “surreal” and “ironic.” Her films are characterized by sharp dialogues, eccentric characters, and paradoxical situations with a touch of black humor. Her second film, Attenberg (2010), earned the Volpi Cup for Best Actress for its star, Ariane Labed, at the 67th Venice Film Festival. In 2015, her third feature film, Chevalier, won the Best Film award at the BFI London Film Festival.
