Canan is a criminal defense lawyer practicing in a small city. She mostly spends her day either in court or at the hospital, where she takes care of her mother. Canan has been retained by a homicide suspect, and will have to face a professional and ethical crisis when she and her client will lose trust in one another. This will force her to make decisions that will have repercussions on the lives of all those involved in the trial and on the people that are closest to her.
Thirty-three-year-old Turkish director Selman Nacar studied at Istanbul’s Bilgi University Faculty of Law and took his masters in film at Columbia. He also participated in the 2019 Berlinale Talents and in 2020 First Films First projects. His directorial debut Between Two Dawns, a story on workplace safety, won the Turin Film Festival in 2021.
