(2023, Francia, Canada, 146')

In the not too distant future, feelings are seen as a threat and a hindrance to the normal development of interpersonal relationships. Gabrielle decides to purify her genetic makeup by undergoing a procedure that will make her relive her past lives and set her free from her strongest feelings. She will then meet Louis, and will feel such a strong connection with him, that it feels like she’s been knowing him forever.

Bertrand Bonello

Bertrand Bonello is in Venice for the first time after several bouts at Cannes and Berlin. Saint Laurent, a biopic on French fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent, has been nominated at the Oscars in 2014. Coma, his film of 2022, is a precious document dedicated to Bonello’s adolescent daughter and her contemporaries’ lives during COVID, devoid of human contact.
