(2025, USA, 90')
In a bygone New York, the poetry collection of Ed Saxberger (Willem Dafoe) had long fallen into oblivion. Years later, a group of young artists rediscovers it, thrusting him into an unexpected new spotlight. Among them is Gloria (Greta Lee), a fascinating and unpredictable actress who awakens in him old desires for recognition. Inspired by Arthur Schnitzler’s novella Late Fame, Kent Jones’s film explores the seductive power of praise and the burdensome weight of the past, in an ironic and moving story of artistic rediscovery and rebirth.
An acclaimed screenwriter, film critic, and festival programmer, Kent Jones (1960) is the author of several books, including Physical Evidence (2009), and acclaimed documentaries such as Hitchcock/Truffaut (2015) and A Letter to Elia (2010; Peabody Award), both co-directed with Martin Scorsese.
