Based on an actual historical event, the film follows Alejandro, a young Spanish nobleman entrusted with delivering to the French court a portrait of the Infanta of Spain, intended to seal the alliance between the two monarchies. In times marked by wars and revolts, his mission leads him to the origins of modernity, amid new ambitions of conquest, political upheaval and a relationship with nature on the verge of profound change.
