Marianne is a doctor living a single life. One evening, after a blind date, she meets Tor on the ferry, a healthcare assistant who often spends the night there looking for chance encounters with other men. A sincere conversation about feelings arises between the two, leading Marianne to reflect on the weight of societal norms. Fascinated by Tor’s ideas, she begins to consider the possibility of embracing free love more freely. This is the second chapter of the Sex, Dreams, Love trilogy (the first caused a stir in Berlin), where the director explores the possibility of thinking and behaving outside conventional rules.
The first feature film by Norwegian director Dag Johan Haugerud was I Belong (Som du ser meg) in 2012, which won four Amanda Awards. In 2024, he directed Sex, the first chapter of the Sex, Dreams, Love trilogy, which was selected for the Panorama section of the 74th Berlin International Film Festival.
