Feyrouz Serhal pays tribute to the great Lebanese director Maroun Bagdadi, thirty years after his passing, through a documentary that presents him to the audience both as a filmmaker and in relation to his country – an aspect that consistently emerges in his films. The documentary centers around Maroun’s journey to his hometown, Beirut, delving into his personal and family experiences against the backdrop of a changing cityscape.
After working for some of the most prominent Arab television networks in the Middle East, Serhal has written and directed several short films, including Tshweesh (2017), which was showcased and awarded at various international festivals, I Come from the Sea (2023), and Sen ti (2023).
