American filmmaker Frederick Wiseman was born in Boston in 1930. An award-winning documentarist, his career touches different genres. He is known for Titicut Follies (1967), Near Death (1989), La Comédie Française ou L’amour joué (1996), La danse-Le ballet de l’Opéra de Paris (2009), At Berkeley (2013) e National Gallery (2014). It is in editing that he determines the structure and narrative of his films. While not eminently political, his work has often questioned the American System, highlighting its fragilities.
