Based on investigations published between 2023 and 2025 by +972 Magazine, Local Call and The Guardian, Naza reconstructs the systems used by Israeli forces to plan attacks on Gaza and estimate expected civilian casualties. Filmed at night on the rooftops of Tel Aviv, it brings together data, documents and testimony on the deliberate killing of Palestinian civilians. The title derives from a military acronym used by Israeli intelligence to estimate expected civilian casualties in air strikes.
Israeli investigative journalist Yuval Abraham and Israeli cinematographer, editor and director Rachel Szor are two of the four co-directors of No Other Land (2024), awarded at the Berlinale and winner of the 2025 Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature. Abraham writes for +972 Magazine and Local Call, while Szor was responsible for the film’s cinematography and editing. With Naza, they continue a form of investigative cinema grounded in images, data and testimony.
