The film offers an intimate look into the life of one of history’s most iconic couples, allowing viewers to closely experience the decisions and challenges they faced during that time.

Kevin Macdonald is a British director who has gained international recognition, winning the Oscar for Best Documentary with One Day in September (2000) and the BAFTA with the film Touching the Void (2003). In 2018, he collaborated with American director and editor Sam Rice-Edwards on the documentary Whitney, which was presented at Cannes. The two worked together again on Life in a Day (2020), which was included in the Sundance Film Festival lineup.
