(2025, Italy, 74')
The first feature film by Virgilio Villoresi, a director known for his experimental and visionary approach, is freely inspired by Dino Buzzati’s Poema a fumetti, published in 1969, which reinterprets the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice in a modern, pop key. Villoresi blends live-action footage with graphic animation, creating a dreamlike and surreal atmosphere. The protagonist, Orpheus, is a lonely pianist who, after meeting Eura, a mysterious woman, embarks on a journey to the underworld to find her. The film explores themes of love, death, and fate, with an aesthetic evoking surrealism and auteur cinema.
