Anyone who tries to reach the mythical Mount Qaf, according to Persian mythology, always ends up back at the starting point. Twenty-year-old Maryam crossed the hilly border between Iran and Turkey to escape after the Islamic Revolution and never return to Tehran. Yet even from the U.S., she remains connected to her “starting point,” watching her family’s home through surveillance cameras. This documentary explores what is left behind but survives through enduring love, despite the distance.
