In her first feature film, the French screenwriter, who was previously an assistant director for Jacques Audiard, tells the story of Joy, a young orphaned and very devout woman whose horizon of events is limited to the church in the small, dull town where she lives. An unexpected turn in her life comes with the encounter with Andriy, a boy who is beaten right in front of her. Joy realizes that their paths are destined to cross and that love will help her question her very identity. The cast also includes Asia Argento and Raphaël Thiéry.
