French director Céline Sciamma made this short movie after meeting Italian poet Patrizia Cavalli. The film is a real, heartfelt farewell to the poet, and is full of love. Shot in Rome as a completely independent production, the film integrates a contribution by singer Chiara Civello. This is How a Child Becomes a Poet presents us with items and pictures found in the home of the late poet, accompanied by the rhythm of Kim Novak’s hand and images from a classic movie.
