Maura Delpero is an Italian director and screenwriter, born in Bolzano in 1975. Her cinema is characterized by a strong social component and a keen focus on family dynamics and the challenges of existence, with a sober and effective visual style that emphasizes details and atmosphere. Her film Maternal (2019) was presented in competition at the 72nd Locarno Film Festival, where it won four awards. It was subsequently selected for several international festivals and received an excellent reception in the USA, Germany, Argentina, and France.
