Abel Rodríguez’s true passion is nature – plants and trees. He was born in the Colombian Amazon, a place where nature is everything, and any instance of knowledge descends directly from it. His memory grew with the trees and is a repository of their shape, an ancestral knowledge that makes one thing of botany and ethnography. Painting comes later: the artist, who does not consider himself one, had no formal training, but knows every detail by heart.
