A director and producer, Akosua Adoma Owusu uses cinema to create a space of awareness in the mind of her audience. As a director, she explores the contrasting identities of African-American migrant communities with an essai film style and the use of experimentational narrational techniques. Her films are shown in the most important film festivals as well as in galleries and museums worldwide. The language of new media explores the concepts of identity, focusing on the vision and the cultural and social modes that are the most appropriate to solve contrasts and contradictions in our daily lives.
