Amina Saoudi Aït Khay

Amina Saoudi Aït Khay learned the traditional Maghreb art of weaving from a young age, returning to it later in life thanks to a chromatic sensibility developed through silk painting, integrating the rhythms of modern abstraction into her textile compositions. Her works are born from a dialogue with materials – primarily wool – dyed with natural pigments such as pomegranate, henna and turmeric, in an intuitive and careful process that is guided by the qualities of the substances themselves. Landscapes and memories linked both to her past in Morocco and her present in Tunisia emerge.
