ANA SEGOVIA

BORN 1991, Mexico City, Mexico
LIVES&WORKS Mexico City

Ana Segovia’s paintings revisit mythical scenes and figures from the Golden Age of Mexican cinema and the Western genre, changing their forms, altering their tonalities and dislocating them. Viewers are confronted with undefined faces, scenes where humour juxtaposes the serious. Through her works she wants to challenge the norm in its dialogue with the unconventional. She rewrites our visual models, inviting us to reconsider them.
