BUBU DE LA MADELEINE

A visual artist, performer, drag queen and drag king, BuBu de la Madeleine produces videos, texts, performances, and installations – a heterogeneous politically charged body of work characterized by irony. Since 2004, she has developed the project A Mermaid’s Territory, centered on the queer archetype of the mermaid, understood as a figure of passage between water and land realms, between life and death, capable of escaping worldly constraints and limitations.
