A pioneer of Abstract Art and committed aesthete with a rigorous geometric line, Carmen Herrera is today considered among the greatest interpreters of minimalism and abstractionism, despite seeing her work officially recognized only late in life when in 2004, at the age of 89, an exhibition was dedicated to her at the Tribeca Latin Collector Gallery. Her artistic journey and her personal story are at the centre of the documentary The 100 Years Show (2015) by Alison Klayman.
