CAROLYN LAZARD

BORN 1987, Upland, USA
LIVES&WORKS New York and Philadelphia, USA

A multidisciplinary artist, Carolyn Lazard defines her art through the experience of disability and living with various chronic diseases. Through different mediums, ranging from video to performance, from sculpture to installation, Lazard investigates the social and political dimensions of care at the intersection of race, gender, and disability. Focused on the concepts of accessibility and dependence, the works and publications of the American artist subvert the vision of the disease, which becomes a creative lens through which to imagine alternative ways of accessibility, work, and care.
