A painter and assemblage sculptor, Daniel Lind-Ramos transforms everyday objects into works of intense historical and ritual density. Born and raised in LoÃza, the centre of Afro-Puerto Rican culture, he works with materials gathered from his community and the local landscape: tools, instruments, relics and built and natural elements. His monumental sculptures condense celebration, religion, work and trauma, restoring to the material a narrative potency that connects local history and diasporic imagery.
