Visconti was a painter, sculptor, and designer. He is considered as the initiator of art deco in Brazil. In 1892, he moved to Paris on a scholarship to later return to Brazil and become a protagonist of a powerful renewal of visual arts. His art is fresh and innovative, and includes symbolist subjects and dusty, fairy tale-like atmospheres. His colors mirror impressionism, with svelte brushstrokes and little bright touches.
