Unwitting, though paradigmatic, player in the processes of exchange and growth of international art, Emma Reyes grew up as an orphan in a convent, and received no formal education. It was her inexhaustible passion for art and painting that guided her to Argentina, France, and Italy, where she was able to find her place in the graphic evolution of European painting on the legacy of Cubism, Expressionism, Futurism.
