GALA PORRAS-KIM

Gala Porras-Kim investigates the institutional mechanisms that determine the value, meaning and even fate of cultural objects. Drawing, text, sculpture and installation are used to work closely with museum collections, archaeological finds, archives and conservation systems, highlighting the political implications of each classification. Her practice is not limited to institutional critique, but also develops alternative hypotheses and protocols to rethink the relationship between objects and their custodians.
