A leading member of the futurist avant-garde, he was among the signatories of the first Manifesto of 1909 in Paris. He focused above all on the representation of movement, crafting cubo-futurist decompositions with abstract-geometric motifs, but later returned to a more classical approach based on a formal synthesis deriving from Matisse and dedicating himself to wall and mosaic decorations with predominantly religious themes.
