Through sculptures, installations, films and staged interventions, Iván Argote questions the narrative construction of individual and collective subjectivity, often creating art in the public spaces which host both. His methods can be perceived as anti-institutional, iconoclastic and surrealist, but perhaps it is ‘simply’ a passionate way of being politically engaged and of politically engaging the Other.
