JOANNA PIOTROWSKA

BORN 1985, Warsaw
LIVES&WORKS Warsaw, Poland and London, UK

Piotrowska’s photographs frame subjects in moments of peculiar cultural vulnerability – moments when their actions or poses are unexpected, unseemly, or even unjustifiably violent. The awkward presence of human bare existence highlights the inherently flawed, animalistic nature of men. The arrangement of the pictures at exhibitions, occasionally in multiple prints, contributes to this unsettling feeling.
