Born in Dundee, Scotland and raised in Scotland and Ghana, Lesley Lokko has taught in the UK, USA, Europe, Australia and Africa. In 2015 she founded the Graduate School of Architecture at the University of Johannesburg. In 2020 she opened the African Futures Institute in Accra, Ghana, which she still directs. She is the editor of “Folio: Journal of Contemporary African Architecture” and author of White Papers, Black Marks: Race, Space and Architecture and numerous bestsellers. She is the curator of the Architecture Biennale 2023.
