Painter and elder sister of the better-known artist Graciela Aranís, María studied at the School of Fine Arts in Santiago, and was mentored by Ricardo Richon Brunet. Her art received praise in her native Chile and some of it is part of the permanent collections of the country’s museums. Her style veers towards realism.
