NENNE SANGUINETI POGGI

Savona, Italy, 1909
Finale Ligure, Italy, 2012

Nenne Sanguineti Poggi dedicated almost her entire artistic life to Eritrea and Ethiopia, receiving commissions at the highest level: pictorial, mosaic or ceramic decorations of large private and public spaces (she was known as Hailé Selassié’s painter). “I painted landscapes taken from an ancient and eternal nature,” memories which once she returned to Italy needed to find a new composition, at first abstract and later angelic, but always elegant and refined.
