PIO ABAD

Through an ever-plural language, Pio Abad investigates the processes of erasure and obscuration of colonialism. Drawing in particular on his family history in the Philippines and his parents’ involvement in resisting the dictatorship, his work often focuses on objects – witnesses to everyday life capable of condensing highly articulate complexities, entangled with the drama of power history. He was a finalist for the Turner Prize 2024.
