RAED YASSIN

One of the most active figures of the Beirut underground scene, Raed Yassin has developed a practice that spans music and visual arts. He uses the latter to analyse the relationship between personal memory and collective history, often filtered through pop culture. His works build a mythology of the present, informed by references to the culture of the past, cinema and Arab music, without neglecting themes of strong civil commitment, such as the conflicts of the Middle East.
